Danger for Classic Church Music
Dear friends, certain changes in US copyright royalty administration will cause my fees to operate this Internet radio station to become prohibitive. For now, Live365 is trying to absorb the huge increase in royalty fees, but this short-term palliative is untenable and cannot last long. I am not rich, and cannot afford fees exceeding $500/year for royalties, indeed I cannot afford half as much.
I urge you to go to http://www.live365.com/choice/ to get more information about this abominable change in royalties due from amateurs such as I, whose only remuneration from this hard chore is the pleasure of advancing the cause of this great genre. If this robbery via increased royalty payment stands, I shall be forced in the near future to still my voice and close this station.
If you care, please see the link http://www.live365.com/choice/ and please respond appropriately.

Where the Listeners Were in March '07
Another month has passed, this one entirely in Lent, so I will give you an update on where folks were listening during this time. Here are the top 10 US metro areas for listenership in March:
- Boston (Manchester) (by a landslide---we Boston folk love our Lent and it shows! LOL)
- Los Angeles
- Washington DC (Hagerstown)
- New York
- Green Bay - Appleton (this is interesting IMHO...listeners from Nashotah House, perhaps?)
- Denver
- Cincinnati
- Saint Louis
- Philadelphia
- New Orleans
And here are the top 10 countries during March:
- United States
- Canada
- United Kingdom
- Japan
- Israel
- Netherlands
- Mexico
- Brazil
- Bahamas (this strikes me as interesting also!)
- Poland
Listeners in 66 countries tuned in during March for at least a minute, and of these people in 44 countries listened to the station for at least an half-hour. All continents with the exception of Antarctica were represented. I never cease to be amazed by the power of the Internet to reach folk wherever they are.
I am in the process of uploading the Easter playlist, which will begin playing Saturday 7 April in the early evening Boston time (EDT, GMT -4 I think). Many wishes to all for a fruitful Triduum, and in advance for a joyful Easter. No, I wish you a slap your leg, laugh out loud, say "wow Lordy!" and praise God Easter! In a liturgically correct manner of course =)
